The House Philosophy

We do not have a menu.
We have a kitchen.

Chef Aimable cooks what the morning brought — the lake's catch from the fishermen of Kinoni, the kale and beans from our terraced garden, the goat from Mr. Habimana three ridges over.

There is no à la carte. There is no choice between this and that. There is only what we have, and the conviction that it is enough. Dietary needs are honoured with care; ask the host upon arrival.

Fun Fact · Mu Rwanda

The bean comes first.

Rwanda eats more beans per person than almost any country on earth — averaging over 60 kilograms a year. They are the spine of the Rwandan plate. Red, white, climbing, bush — every household has its preferred kind.
